With just one week to go, we are thrilled to announce that Verity Interiors, alongside Absolute Casing and Nomad are participating in the 2024 Blues Banger Rally! Competing under the name Team Hobo (Homeless and Vagrant, for 4 days at least), driving a 250,000-mile Lexus LS400 V8 4.0L on an epic journey from Bedford Rugby Club to Porec, Croatia.
Our adventure begins on July 3rd 2024 and spans four days, covering 11 countries. Along the way, we will visit some incredible places, including the viewing platform at Zugspitze in Germany, the Grobglockner Alpine High Road, and the ‘crazy tourist’ toboggan run in Lienz, Austria. These stops promise not only stunning landscapes but also unique experiences that highlight the beauty and diversity of Europe.
However, this rally is about much more than the thrill of the journey. We are proud to share that we have already raised an incredible £8,000 for this exceptional charity, which supports young people in and around Bedfordshire. The Blues Foundation, the charitable arm of Bedford Blues Rugby Club, reaches 3,500 children per year through rugby programs and targeted interventions for disengaged youth. The funds raised from the rally will help continue this important work, transforming lives through the power of sport and physical activity.
As a final fundraising push, we are offering sponsored stickers on our car for £500 a pair (one for each side ????). Photos of the stickers will be posted from the start line next Wednesday, July 3rd! This is a fantastic opportunity for businesses and individuals to support a great cause and gain some visibility during the rally. The Route and Highlights
- Our journey will take us through the following countries: England, France, Belgium, Luxembourg, Germany, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Austria, Italy, Slovenia, and Croatia. Each day, we will start and finish together with the other participants, fostering a sense of camaraderie and allowing us to meet new people while exploring Europe’s most stunning landscapes.
- Zugspitze, Germany: The highest peak in Germany, offering breathtaking views from its summit viewing platform.
- Grobglockner Alpine High Road: One of the most famous mountain roads in Austria, known for its scenic beauty and challenging drive.
- Toboggan Run in Lienz, Austria: A thrilling and fun tourist attraction that promises excitement and unforgettable memories.

The Foundation’s Banger Rally is not just a fun challenge; it is a crucial fundraising event. The basic rule of the rally is that each car must cost no more than £1,500. Any additional spend post-purchase is up to the participants. Each team commits to raising a minimum of £8,000, which goes directly to support the Foundation’s programs and initiatives.
