About the project:

To maximise the double storey height space a bespoke mezzanine steel structure was installed, due to the lightweight ground floor slab the supporting steel was fixed directly to the existing concrete columns and therefore transferring the loads directly into the foundations.

The existing concrete soffit was sprayed with an acoustic coating before the exposed MEP services were installed. High performance drywall cross walls and double glazed “Crittal” type office fronts created the offices and meeting rooms.

Four tea points were installed to serve the two floors, Male, Female and disabled WCs, were positioned on both floors along with showers, locker, changing rooms and secure storage areas for those who choose to cycle to work.

The underside of the mezzanine structure was clad in birch faced plywood, coated in a intumescent clear coating to comply with building control. Other joinery items included a bespoke reception desk and suspended timber feature rafts.

A platform lift was installed to ensure access was available to all users.

Externally hard and soft landscaping was undertaken with colourful powder coated planters positioned to create quite areas for the office staff.
