Construction is a wide-reaching industry. The main focus of attention may be site based however, to deliver any project a lot of hard work support and planning goes on in the background. Like any business you are only as good as the sum of the parts and construction is no different. Two of the key aspects of construction, Health and Safety and Environmental, are heavily regulated and constantly updated through legislation, and quite rightly so. To ensure we at Verity stay at the leading edge of these essential aspects of construction we outsource to KPA safety and Encore Environment, both experts in their field. On project award, both KPA and Encore are notified of the scheme. Ensuring early engagement with our partners is essential as this allows our site teams to draw on their valued experience and the advice they provide from the outset. This information influences our project strategies, programme, delivery aspirations and costs.

The help doesn’t stop there, during the life cycle of our projects KPA and Encore continue to support us through to the end. Advice and assistance is only a phone call away and in the case of Safety, regular site audits are carried out to ensure our sites are safe environments to work and importantly comply with HSE legislation and guidelines.

Having Encore by our side allows us to explore numerous possibilities with regards to waste management and our environmental goals. Their Project Divert scheme is a fantastic opportunity to reuse and repurpose “stuff” that hasn’t reached the end of its life but just isn’t wanted by our clients. To give it to someone else who can use it not only makes good sense, it stops it going to landfill or the incinerator.

Another reason we use Encore is for their extensive and wide-reaching supply chain. This allows local waste operators to service our sites thus cutting down on the miles travelled, as they say “every little helps”.
